All-tournament team selections
- Brent Messer
Dale Burns' 21st Tennessee High team, fifth in the Big 10 the year before, leaned on its guards: 5-8 senior point guard Matt Keeter (9.7 points), also one of the state's best tennis players, and 6-0 senior Jared Montgomery (11.3), both dangerous from three. 6-4 junior Brent Messer (13.6) led the rebounding, with 6-8 senior Geoff Tiller inside and 6-4 sophomore Kevin Springs (9.6) still growing into his potential. Two of the losses were close ones, 63-59 to Dobyns-Bennett and 49-48 to Daniel Boone. 4-5 coming in.
