1987
After a promising start, Dale Burns' Vikings had become a break-even team, young, inexperienced and inconsistent. Senior wing Rocky Clay (6-1), better known as a major college football prospect, led at 13.5 points and had picked up since Burns moved him to the bench. 6-3 senior wing Brent Amick, over back problems that cost him two games, also averaged 13.5, and 6-3 junior Garth Reynolds 9.9, both good jumpers who ran the floor. 6-5 senior Jamie Whitman (5.4) was the best low-post player, and 5-10 sophomore Tommy McDaniel had become the floor leader. 6-6 coming in.
