Science Hill High School

Northeast Tennessee's best chance, as usual, and winning through a first month of injuries and illness, though off a rare blowout loss to Louisville Butler. A dozen deep, with 6-4 seniors Danny Sterbenz at forward and Roy Jackson, back from a shoulder injury, in the post, and T.J. Talford at guard. The Hilltoppers had already beaten Louisville Eastern 88-65 in the King of the Bluegrass semifinals. George Pitts, in his 14th season, was 638-143. 10-2 coming in.
