Champion
A state semi-finalist the previous season with 30 wins and a top-three ranking in Tennessee for most of it, returning almost intact. George Pitts's full-court pressure and a deep group of athletes were the key. All-State Tournament senior guard Jay Jay Swartz, also All-Big 10 and All-Upper East Tennessee, was their top gun, with guard Wayne Carroll and forward Jovann Johnson alongside.
