Mike Williams expected growing pains after a 6-21 season, and got them, but the Rebels showed signs of becoming a quality team by tournament time. Dan Wright, a 6-4 junior who played in Arkansas the year before and also starred in football and baseball, led at 12.3 points a game, and 6-1 junior Mike Hoover added 11.1. Seniors Stuart Stewart (6-4), Jody Fugate (6-2) and Jeff Dowell (5-8) completed the lineup. 3-6 coming in.
