John McCrary's Golden Raiders defended well but could not shoot, forcing more turnovers than they committed and sometimes outrebounding teams without winning. Wing Shannon Smith (6-4, 12.6 ppg), a long-range shooter who shared the Arby's single-game record of seven three-pointers, led them, with forwards Chris Pendleton (6-2) and Jarrett Painter (6-2) at 7.9 each and Brandon Krantz (5-8, 7.4) at the point, while David Gibson and Chad Marshall (5.8 each) shared the other wing. 1-7 coming in.
