Expected to be one of Upper East Tennessee's best, but off to a slow start. North had one of the area's most exciting players in 6-2 senior wing David Williams (20.5 ppg), whom a rival Big Nine coach called the league's finest, and 6-2 senior John Blizzard (14.6) had played consistently while injuries juggled the lineup. Point guard Chris Frazier stood 5-8. 4-6 coming in.
