Sixth in Upper East Tennessee, with two of the area's best seniors in Anthony Warren and Tim Thomason. Scott Fox, who took over in midseason the year before and led the Pioneers into the regional playoffs, called it the best team there in at least four years. The 6-3 Warren, a college prospect at guard, averaged 23 points and the 6-5 Thomason 18 at forward; center Ron Barkley was coming back from injury. 6-2 coming in.
