ABOUT THE EAGLES:
First-year head coach Miguel Johnson inherits a team that captured the regional title a year ago and went on to finish among the Sweet 16 in the state tournament. All-State selection and regional Player of the Year Deven Nelson, who averaged 16.7 points and 6.2 rebounds a game as a junior, will pace the Eagles’ attack. Zayd Muhammad, also named to the All-Region team last season, averaged 15.9 points a game, to go along with 5.8 rebounds and nearly four assists per outing.
