Brainerd High School

Unbeaten in a fifth trip to the Arby's, Brainerd was a late addition to the field. Robert High's Panthers had won Class AAA state titles in 1988 and 1992 without winning the Classic either year. They were led by 6-7 junior power forward C.J. Black and 6-4 sophomore point guard Johnny Goodman, whom High, a veteran coach, called the best young player he had ever coached. 9-0 coming in.
