Herb Hawkes' Greene Devils started slowly with players still in football, then lost Wes Jones to a broken hand until January and played Dougie DeBusk through a sprained ankle, dropping big games to Dobyns-Bennett and Morristown West. DeBusk (5-6) ran the offense at about 11 points, with Scott Pejsa (6-4, 12), Flint Carter (6-6, 9), Jimmy Rich (6-1, 9) and Marcellous Rogers (6-2, 12.5), the team's top athlete and best defender. Depth was thin, leaning on Darren Hayslip and Joe Lawrence. 4-4 coming in.
