1990
Three-time Class AAAA state champions in the 1980s from South Carolina's toughest region, Gary Fulmer's Diamonds had gone 42-0 in non-conference games outside tournaments over six years. They were without 6-6 junior Kenwan Alford, recruited by Tennessee, Providence and Villanova but academically ineligible, and hoped junior forward Brian Pringle was past an ankle injury. Senior point guard Tyrone Wilson (6-3), recruited by South Carolina, Georgia, N.C. State and Alabama, led a balanced team. The school's best-known product was former LSU 7-footer Stanley Roberts. 8-0 coming in.
