Two of Herb Hawkes' big men chose not to play, but his young Greene Devils came around faster than he expected. Junior guard Marcelus Rogers (5-11) led at 14 points a game and 6-3 senior Shane Devoti scored 10. Junior Doug DeBusk (5-4), back after missing most of his sophomore season injured and the younger brother of former Greeneville standout Frankie DeBusk, added eight; 6-4 sophomore Scott Pejsa scored 9 and 6-3 senior Shane Brown 6. Less of an inside team than in past years, Greeneville leaned on the long-range shooting of Devoti and Honeycutt. 4-2 coming in.
