The Patriots' first Arby's in 14 years, and they came in on a five-game winning streak, two of their three losses close ones to Cherokee and at Dobyns-Bennett. The Big Seven's most experienced team started five seniors who could all score: 6-3 forward Brandon Collins (16 ppg), 6-2 guard Brandon Perry (9) and point guard Jackson Simerly (11), whose play was the barometer of how East fared. John Dyer was in his tenth year. 8-3 coming in.
