2001
Gate City's Arby's record stood at 1-4, though it had dropped two close games the year before, to Dobyns-Bennett and Joventut. With no seniors and Justin Seaver gone to King College, it was a rebuilding year: freshmen Nate Clark and Jessee McMurray had played well, and Everett Shepard was one of four juniors. 0-2 coming in.
