Furman High School

Perhaps South Carolina's most prolific scoring program, first or second in the state in scoring four years running, playing Harold Thames' controlled up-tempo game and man-to-man all over the court. Small, and both losses had come to physical Class AAA Manning. Four scored in double figures, led by 6-0 sophomore point guard James Watson (22 ppg) and 6-3 sophomore swingman John Canty (18), with 6-2 senior Charles Ford and 6-0 senior Ben Brailsford (13.0). 5-2 coming in.
