Wilbert Hamilton's 12th season at the Montgomery school, 350-98, came after a 27-5 team reached the Class 6A semifinals and finished 12th in USA Today. Every starter was gone, including Murray State signees Rodrick Murray and Isaac Spencer, Alabama's Mr. Basketball. Quickness and good athletes were the strength, led by 6-3 senior Jeffrey Aaron, the all-state quarterback of a 6A football finalist and a Division I prospect, and 6-0 senior Xavius White, on a team making the quick move from gridiron to hardwood. 3-0 coming in.
