Very close to the South Carolina 4-A championship the season before. 6-4 senior forward Jeff Himes, a four-year starter recruited by Southern Conference schools, averaged 16 points, and 6-4 junior Robert Hill 14 points and nine rebounds. A patient team that worked for the high-percentage shot, 4-1 after losing its opener in overtime.
