The Dynamos, one of the smallest schools in the field, brought a losing record and one of the tournament's top players: 6-7 forward Orlando Lightfoot, Tennessee's Class AA player of the year and an Oklahoma signee, who averaged 26 points and 16 rebounds after 27 and 18 as a junior, when he carried City to the Class AA tournament. Willie Smith also had 6-4 Eric Taylor and point guard Troy Chandler against a demanding schedule, and City's last game was a 73-51 loss to Austin-East in Knoxville. 3-5 coming in.
